Chefs, waiters and assistant manager wanted for new Scandinavian restaurant in South Kensington, London

The restaurant

Madsen is a new Scandinavian restaurant in South Kensington that is due to open in late September 2008. The 70-cover restaurant will be serving lunch and dinner 7-days a week, and we have a small private dining room within the premises. The concept is modern Scandinavian cuisine that combines both traditional dishes,
as well as more modern style cooking too. The restaurant will furthermore be run on sustainability principles that involve using local suppliers and the majority of our products being hand made. Charlotte, the owner,  started her catering company Madsen Food two years ago and the company now has a wide customer base of City-based,  Scandinavian and design companies. The restaurant will build on this success, and take the concept further by including the more modern Scandinavian cuisine. Charlotte will be the general manager of the restaurant.

Job Role

We are looking to fill positions such as:

• Chefs, including Head Chef and kitchen assistants
• Waiters
• Assistant manager for Front of House

Key Attributes

In general we are looking for people who have previous experience in their field. However, above all it is about your personality and attitude – you need to be outgoing and open-minded. We are looking for someone who is a team player and who is driven by excellent customer care. You will also need to be a good communicator, and it is an advantage if you have knowledge of Scandinavian culture, cuisine and language.
